Plain-English summary: We only collect information you choose to give us — your name, email, phone number, or message when you fill out a form. We use it to respond to you or to follow up on a retreat application. We don’t sell your data, ever. Page visits are tracked anonymously (no cookies, no personal info) just so we know which retreats people are most curious about.
Who we are
Ho’omanamana (operating under Lineage of Light) is a Hawaiian wisdom and bodywork practice based in the United States, founded by Jody Mountain. This Privacy Policy applies to ho-omanamana.com and the Ho’omanamana mobile app.

Information we collect
We only collect information you actively provide:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and the message you write.
- Retreat application form:
- Contact details: full name, email, phone, country, address, optional website or social media handle.
- Referral source: how you heard about the retreat and, if applicable, the name of the person or place who referred you.
- Health and safety screening: mental health diagnosis history, recent (past 12 months) episodes of psychiatric concern, current medications, prior silent or intensive retreat experience, and any other health information you choose to share. This information is sensitive. We collect it only because some elements of the retreat (extended silence, prolonged slow movement) can be destabilizing for individuals with certain histories. It is reviewed solely to assess whether the retreat is a safe fit and to support you appropriately while there.
- Consent records: whether you agreed to the retreat terms and to our review of the health information for safety purposes.
We also collect basic, anonymous website usage information through Vercel Web Analytics — for example, which pages were visited and on what kind of device. This data does not identify you personally and does not use cookies.
The Ho’omanamana mobile app stores your practice progress (which days you’ve completed) locally on your device. This information stays on your phone and is not transmitted to us.
How we use your information
We use what you share for these purposes only:
- To respond to your message or application.
- To send you retreat information, application status updates, or scheduling details you’ve asked for.
- To assess retreat fit and support you safely during the retreat (for health and safety screening responses).
- To understand which parts of the website are most useful, in aggregate.
Health and safety screening responses are reviewed only by Jody Mountain and any retreat staff with a direct safety responsibility for you on-site. They are not shared more broadly.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Ever.
How your information is stored and shared
To run the website and send emails, we use a small number of trusted service providers:
- Vercel — hosts the website and runs the contact and application forms.
- Cloudflare — protects the website and speeds up its delivery.
- Resend — delivers the email notifications generated by your form submissions to our inbox.
- Google (Gmail) — receives form submissions at our email address.
These services have their own privacy practices; we’ve chosen them because they’re widely trusted and don’t use your data for advertising.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact and application form submissions for as long as we’re actively in conversation with you, plus a reasonable period afterward to maintain our records (typically up to 3 years). You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see below.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we have about you.
- Correct anything that’s inaccurate.
- Delete your information from our records.
To exercise any of these rights, email ancientlomilomi@gmail.com from the address you used to contact us. We’ll respond within 30 days.
For California residents (CCPA)
If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we’ve collected, request its deletion, and opt out of any sale of personal information. Children
Our retreats and practices are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let active correspondents know by email.
